Monash and Kingston City Councils have picked up 2025's Positive Ageing and Wellbeing Awards, sponsored by McArthur.

The two councils were awarded at the LGPro Annual Conference on Wednesday 4 June at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne.

Kingston won the award for grant-funded initiatives with a virtual reality program that put VR in the hands of seniors, fostering connection, storytelling, and digital literacy.

Monash won the award for self-funded initiatives with a storytelling competition that brought young people and older adults together to celebrate meaningful relationships and foster mutual understanding.

The Positive Ageing and Wellbeing Awards highlights the local government teams working towards improved health and wellbeing outcomes for people as they age.
